Do I need to be employed by the Department of Education?
No. If you work within education, no matter what sector — including public, private, university or studying education — you and your family are eligible for our Education Community Banking Benefits.

Education Community Banking Benefits are available to employees within the education community and students carrying out studies in education, and their eligible family members.

Do I need to be a permanent full-time employee?
No. If you work within education or study education, no matter on what basis — casual, part-time, retired, on parental leave, permanent, full-time — you and your family are eligible for our Education Community Banking Benefits.

What happens when I retire from working in education?
Nothing! You will continue to receive our Education Community Banking Benefits. Retired education workers and their families are still eligible to join and receive our Education Community Banking Benefits.

Who are the ‘eligible family members’ that qualify for Education Community Banking Benefits?
Eligible family members are parents, children, grandparents, grandchildren, siblings and partners.

My partner is with Credit Union SA. How do we enjoy the benefits together?
If you’re an existing member of Credit Union SA and you have a family member that is part of the education community, send us a Secure Mail message or call us on (08) 8202 7777, and we can help you receive our Education Community Banking Benefits.
If you’re not a member of Credit Union SA but have a family member that is part of the education community, you can still receive all the benefits just by joining Credit Union SA online and selecting ‘Education’ from the drop down box in the online application form.

Are early childhood educators eligible?
Yes. Our Education Community Banking Benefits are available to early childhood educators and students studying early childhood education, and their families.
