Supporting members through our Port Augusta Branch closure
In response to steadily declining use of the Port Augusta Branch, Credit Union SA has advised its staff and members of plans to close the branch effective 28 August 2020 and transition members to alternative banking and support options.
This decision follows a review which has confirmed that most Credit Union SA members have changed the way they do their banking, with a growing number of members now attracted by the ease and convenience of banking online.
We understand that some of our members have been using the Credit Union SA Port Augusta Branch for a long time and have developed some trusted and longstanding relationships with our valued Port Augusta staff.
We are currently working with Port Augusta staff to discuss their preferred career options, and if they choose to leave us, we will help them transition into new roles.
Members who use the branch will be supported extensively over the next 12 weeks, to make sure they are comfortable and confident moving forward. We have written to all impacted members advising them of the pending closure, including detailed information on the alternate face-to-face and digital banking services available to them – such as our award-winning Mobile Banking App, Internet Banking, Phone Banking and local Bank@Post outlets (Port Augusta North CPA, Port Augusta Post Shop and Port Augusta West LPO).
We know that the loss of any local financial institution is disappointing, however we look forward to continuing to service our members in Port Augusta and surrounds and appreciate their ongoing support.
