Term Deposit benefit

If you’re looking to lock your funds away and earn a fixed interest rate, a Term Deposit is a fantastic, high-security option.

Term Deposits allow you to lock away funds and earn a fixed interest rate for a set period, so you know exactly how much money you will earn. The education community can earn an additional 0.10% p.a. on the current advertised Term Deposit Rates. This can be applied to new Term Deposits or a maturing Term Deposit at request. Minimum deposit amount of $1,000 required. Deposits with terms of three to eleven months automatically have interest paid at maturity. The interest may be paid to a savings account or reinvested. Deposits with terms of 12 months or more may have interest reinvested every 12 months, or paid to a savings account fortnightly, monthly, quarterly or yearly. Credit Union SA pays the same rate of interest regardless of the interest frequency.

If you work as an SSO, receptionist, contract teacher, TRT, student teacher, groundsman, TAFE lecturer, librarian, classroom teacher or University co-ordinator (just to name a few), you are eligible for our Knowledge Counts banking benefits.

Plus, your immediate family members (parents, children, grandparents, grandchildren, siblings and partners only) are eligible too.

No, you are unable to add money to your Term Deposit before maturity.
