My Joint Account requires the approval of both parties for transactions, so why can data sharing be approved by just one Account holder?​

Data sharing will not allow funds to be withdrawn from an Account, only the sharing of information digitally. When using Open Banking you will receive a notification (when enabled) to let you know that sharing has occurred. Both Account holders will also have visibility of who has access to your data.
