Credit Union SA at Port Adelaide Football Club’s Junior Footy Round!
Creating meaningful community impact
Credit Union SA proudly supported Port Adelaide Football Club’s Junior Footy Feature Round at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, 13 July.
Bringing together hundreds of young players, volunteers, and local clubs for a day dedicated to celebrating grassroots football across South Australia.
The event formed part of Credit Union SA’s broader partnership with Port Adelaide, which continues to focus on creating meaningful community impact through sport.
Supporting Junior Clubs Across SA
As part of our Community Raffle initiative, 300 junior players from participating clubs were invited to take part in a Lap of Honour around the oval before the first bounce. This moment recognised the contribution of local clubs and celebrated the next generation of footy talent.
We also welcomed:
- 22 junior mascots from raffle-participating clubs to run out with the team
- A Guard of Honour made up of grassroots club members and Credit Union SA representatives
- A Ball Delivery opportunity for one winning club to walk out with the match ball during the coin toss
Creating Memorable Experiences
The Magery Room was transformed into a Junior Footy Festival, offering kids a range of interactive activities including:
- Skill testing stations (agility, speed, handball)
- AFL gaming on PlayStation
- A “create your own footy card” station
- Free temporary tattoos and giveaways at the Credit Union SA stand
Across the stadium, our team handed out branded merchandise at the Southern Plaza and launched giveaways into the crowd from the bowl, turning Adelaide Oval orange with community pride.
Investing in Local Clubs
During the ¾ Time Junior Race, ten clubs competed for funding support. Athlestone Football Club took home the top prize of $1,000, while each of the remaining nine clubs received $200 to support their season.
Additional giveaways included:
- 14 Roof Climb experiences for community members
- A Perfect Pear experience for two long-serving volunteers to enjoy a day at the footy
Leadership and Community Impact
Inside MG Suite One, Credit Union SA Chief Executive Officer Todd Roberts delivered a short address to guests, reflecting on the importance of community investment and the role sport plays in bringing people together.
The Junior Footy Feature Round was one of several community initiatives Credit Union SA supported throughout July, alongside:
- Participation in the NAIDOC March
