Credit Union SA and Lucia’s partnership delivers meaningful support for young South Australians experiencing homelessness

Credit Union SA and Lucia’s are proud to announce they have collectively donated over $6000 to St John’s Youth Services, as a result of the highly successful Partnering for Purpose initiative.

Homelessness remains a significant issue in South Australia, with more than 5000 children and young people seeking support from services each year, demonstrating the urgent need for community initiatives and programs that St John’s Youth Services delivers.

Since the launch of the initiative last November Lucia’s have sold over 600 Partnership for Purpose hampers, with a majority of them sold during November and December in 2025 at the Adelady Christmas Village in Victoria Square, Lucia’s Central Market store, and Lucia’s online shop.

Through the partnership, Credit Union SA and Lucia’s have helped support St John’s Youth Services in providing resources to young South Australians experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. The CEO of St John’s Youth Services, Nicole Chaplin stated that the funds raised will provide vital resources that empower young South Australians to build independence and thrive.

Credit Union SA’s CEO, Todd Roberts said the initiative reflects the organisation’s ongoing commitment to supporting young South Australians.

“At Credit Union SA, we are deeply committed to creating pathways for South Australians to thrive, especially our young people,” Todd continued. “We’re so proud to partner with Lucia’s for this ongoing initiative, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support shown by the community, especially during the holiday season last year, and look forward to see it continue to grow and provide vital funds for St John’s Youth Services,” Todd said.

Managing Director of Lucia’s Australia, Simon Bugeja, said the success of the campaign has not only raised vital funds for St John’s Youth services but also increased awareness of youth homelessness across the state.

“The strong community response to the Partnering for Purpose initiative highlights the positive impact that can be achieved when local businesses and South Australians come together to support a shared cause,” Simon explained.

Each hamper includes iconic Lucia’s products like tomato sauce, a range of soups such as tomato and roasted capsicum, pumpkin and sweet potato, and spiced pea and shallots, as well as salsa and their pesto range. A special magnet highlighting the Partnering for Purpose is also included, providing a reminder of the positive impact made through every purchase.

Lucia’s Partnering for Purpose hampers are available to be purchased at their store located in the Adelaide Central Markets, as well as on their website: ‘Partnering for Purpose’ The Giving Hamper
