Credit Union SA and Lucia’s join to support South Australian youth experiencing homelessness

Credit Union SA is proud to support St John’s Youth Services by partnering with South Australian institution, Lucia’s, for their Partnership for Purpose initiative.

Homelessness remains a pressing issue in South Australia, with more than 5000 children and young people seeking support from services each year, highlighting the urgent need for community initiatives and programs that St John’s Youth Services delivers.

The new initiative will see both Credit Union SA and Lucia’s each donate to St John’s Youth Services when customers purchase a special Lucia’s hamper. The hampers will contain iconic products like tomato sauce, range of soups such as tomato and roasted capsicum, pumpkin and sweet potato, and spiced pea and shallots, as well as salsa and their pesto range as well as a special magnet highlighting the Partnership for Purpose, a reminder of the positive impact made through every purchase.

The funds raised will help provide vital resources that empower young South Australians to build independence and thrive, and Credit Union SA’s CEO, Todd Roberts, said the initiative reflects the organisation’s ongoing commitment to supporting young South Australians.

“At Credit Union SA, we believe in creating opportunities for South Australians to thrive, especially our young people. Partnering with Lucia’s allows us to give back in a meaningful way and help those who need it most during the holiday season, including those at St John’s Youth Services,” Todd said.Todd Roberts

Managing Director of Lucia’s Australia, Simon Bugeja, said the collaboration was a natural fit for the proudly local, family-owned brand.

“Lucia’s has always been about community, about bringing people together through food. This partnership allows us to use that spirit of togetherness to make a real difference for young people doing it tough,” Simon explained.

Further to this initiative, Credit Union SA is excited to return as Community Stage Partner at the Adelady Christmas Village in 2025, a much-loved festive event featuring over 100 South Australian businesses, food, drinks, live entertainment, a free kid’s zone, and plenty of festive vibes.

Credit Union SA will also be proudly supporting the Lucia’s stand at the Adelady Christmas Village in Victoria Square on 12-13 December 2025, which will be selling the special hampers.

These special Partnership for Purpose hampers are now available to purchase at Lucia’s in the Adelaide Central Markets for only $70 (valued at $110) and contains over 12 meals, offering a way for the community to give back while enjoying a taste of local goodness just in time for the festive season, making it the perfect gift or treat this Christmas.
