Thrive with us at Credit Union SA

People First

We thrive as a team by putting people first. We are here for South Australians – this is our community.

Be Our Best

Our purpose, performance and high standards drive us. We engage with our local communities and support and participate in their activities in a way that creates positive environmental, societal and economic outcomes for our community.

Strive to Achieve

We are a trusted partner helping our members thrive and achieve. When we achieve our goals, it’s because it’s the right thing to do for our community so that they have the opportunity to grow and thrive.

Belong with us

Our ability to make banking and finance accessible to all South Australians is thanks to every one of our team members and the diverse thinking, collaboration and innovation they bring.

That’s why we’re committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive workplace where everyone feels comfortable, valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

Diversity and Inclusion

Find out how we’re proactively creating a workplace that embraces individual differences and experiences, and supports you to belong, grow and thrive.

South Australia is wonderfully diverse, so it's important that the team at Credit Union SA reflects and celebrates this.

Our Diversity and Inclusion policies aim to ensure we are empathetic, collaborative, and respectful in the way we lead and work. From supporting important social causes to prioritising training and support, we know that what makes us unique is what makes us special, and we're committed to creating a safe environment for our staff to be themselves.

At Credit Union SA, we are committed to ensuring a fair, equitable and inclusive recruitment process and workplace for people of all backgrounds, experiences and abilities. We will always make adjustments when needed to ensure all candidates and team members can participate fully and equally.

We are also responsible for ensuring our employees are aware of their rights and obligations in relation to our Equal Opportunity Policy.

We pride ourselves on an inclusive leadership team that is led by our values and is representative of our team members and the people we serve. As of February 2026, over 54% of leadership roles across Credit Union SA are held by women, including a predominantly female executive team. We are committed to closing the gender pay gap, and we incorporate this focus in all decisions related to recruitment, talent management and succession planning. While this journey continues, we have reduced the gap from 15.4% in 2023-24 to 10.5% in 2024-25 placing us 12.1% lower than the banking industry average, in 2024 - 2025.

Credit Union SA joined WE'RE EQUAL in February 2023 to actively support safe and inclusive environments across South Australia.

WE’RE EQUAL is an initiative of the Commissioner for Equal Opportunity, helping local businesses show that they have made a commitment to zero tolerance for discrimination, bullying and harassment by signing and displaying a Statement of Commitment and communicating their stance to customers, staff, contractors and suppliers.

Respecting Aboriginal History and Culture

We feel immensely privileged to be based on Kaurna land, and we acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as the traditional custodians of unceded country across Australia and respect their spiritual relationship with Country.

While our focus has always been community, in recent years, Credit Union SA has been on an important journey to take meaningful action towards change. It’s a process we have not taken lightly, and while we know there is more for us to do, we are hopeful about what it means to take these steps.

All Credit Union SA staff take part in Aboriginal Cultural Sensitivity and Respect Training. This training covers a range of important topics, creating awareness and understanding of Aboriginal Australians’ history and culture. It also provides opportunities for us all to examine and challenge our personal values and attitudes. This training is part of the standard onboarding for all new team members, ensuring everyone at Credit Union SA has the same education opportunity and can contribute to our efforts towards reconciliation.

With help and guidance from Reconciliation SA, we have implemented an Acknowledgment of Country statement as part of our website, social media accounts, email signatures, office building, Member Experience Centre, meeting rooms and in spoken form at the beginning of our events and meetings.

We believe this is an important step to show respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage and the ongoing relationship of traditional owners with the land.

Building on our strong foundations, we are committed to deepening our engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to foster genuine connection and support reconciliation. Our first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), Reflect which we started in 2023, laid the groundwork for strengthening our organisational knowledge, enhancing our practices, and affirming our responsibilities in contributing to reconciliation.

In June 2025 we launched our Innovate RAP, and we are progressing into the next stage of our journey, moving from awareness to action. This phase challenges us to embed reconciliation more deliberately across our organisation by developing sustainable initiatives, strengthening relationships with First Nations stakeholders, and integrating culturally informed practices into our everyday work.

Central to the success of our Innovate RAP is expanding our team’s cultural capability through ongoing education and deepening our partnerships with First Nations communities, whose leadership and perspectives guide our approach. Our dedicated RAP Working Group brings together team members from across the organisation, alongside our CEO and Executive Leadership Team, ensuring that both grassroots involvement and strong leadership commitment drive meaningful and measurable outcomes.

We have formed a First Nations Advisory Group who will provide strategic guidance, expert advice, and oversight to ensure an organisation's reconciliation commitments are authentic, culturally appropriate, and effective. They will ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices drive initiatives, fostering genuine relationships, respect, and economic opportunities.

As we advance through our Innovate RAP, we remain focused on creating lasting impact, transforming our learnings into practical action and continuing to embed reconciliation into the way we work, connect, and support our community.

Credit Union SA has an active People and Culture Committee that provides opportunities for staff engagement through education and activities, including National Sorry Day, National Reconciliation Week, and a sponsorship with Reconciliation SA.
