Join our Credit Risk Team as a Credit Insight Analyst; analysing lending portfolio data to identify trends, emerging risks and deliver clear, actionable insights which support effective risk management.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Manager Credit Risk, you will support effective oversight of the credit portfolio through high-quality analysis, monitoring and reporting, ensuring risk metrics are accurate, timely and fit for purpose, while identifying emerging risks and improvement across the lending portfolio.

Other key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Undertake detailed portfolio analytics to identify trends, emerging risks and drivers of credit performance, providing clear insights to Management.
  • Contribute to regular internal reporting, including commentary that is clear, practical and decision-useful.
  • Undertake hind-sighting activities and lending-related control and compliance checks.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline and improve credit risk reporting and analytical processes, including the use of data and analytics platforms.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive the successful execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall strategic goals of the Credit Union.    

What You'll Bring

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in credit risk analytics within a regulated environment.
  • Exposure to data platforms and analytics tools, with strong Excel skills and SQL and/or Power BI considered an advantage.
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to translate data into clear, concise and meaningful insights.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound understanding of lending practices as well as prudential and regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capability.
  • High attention to detail, with a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality.
  • A proactive, self-starting approach, with the ability to build effective working relationships across the organisation.
