What you need to complete your online application
To make the application process as quick and easy as possible, here’s everything you’ll need to provide when you apply for a home loan with us.
- Basic personal details including mobile number, email address, home address, etc.
- Your living arrangements and number of dependants.
Current employment and employment history for the past 3 years.
Current income and income history for the past 3 years.
What you owe
Information about any loans or debts you currently owe, including:
- Home loans
- Investment loans
- Personal or car loans
- Credit cards
- Store cards
- Afterpay, Zip Pay, etc.
- Loans related to study
You will need to include interest rates and total amounts left owing on any loans.
What you own
Information about any property, vehicles, savings or shares you own.
A breakdown of your monthly household expenses, including:
- Housing and property expenses (including utilities)
- Phone and internet accounts
- Recreation and entertainment.
- Clothing, footwear, cosmetics, etc.
- Medical and health
Your home loan goals
Our Home Loan Specialists will help you find the best home loan for your goals and needs. But to start the process off we’ll ask you to tell us a little about what you’re looking for, including:
- A new home loan or refinancing an existing home loan
- An investment property or a home to live in

What we do next
Once we’ve reviewed your application, one of our Home Loan Specialists will be in touch within 24-48 hours to confirm your details and discuss your overall home loan needs and objectives.
If your application progresses, we’ll ask you to provide some documents so we can check the details you included in your application form. Don’t worry, it’s quick and easy – we’ve partnered with Illion to let you upload your documents securely. We’ll also need to verify your employment details with your employer.
Before we review your documents, and carry out your employment check, we should be able to confirm if you’ve been conditionally approved.
*Conditional approval is valid for 90 days and will not progress to unconditional approval until we have completed all the checks.
Valuation and assessment
Once we’ve checked your documents, we’ll then carry out a valuation on your property if we need too.
It’s official! Once everything is all good from our end, we’ll confirm your loan is approved and send your home loan contract to you.
Once your contract is signed, we will work out a time with you to settle your loan.
Then – guess what? Your new Credit Union SA Home Loan will be up and running and it’s time to enjoy all the benefits (and savings) of having a home loan with us. Whoop whoop!
Who can apply for a Credit Union SA home loan?
Our home loans have some standard lending guidelines that you can check out right now.
To be eligible, you need to:
- be an Australian citizen or Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand citizen;
- be at least 18 years old;
- currently live in Australia;
- have regular income or self-employed income (sole trader or in a partnership); and
- be outside your probationary period of employment.
