Can I use my card overseas?

With a Credit Union SA Visa Debit Card or Visa Credit Card, you can shop at tens of millions of merchants across the globe and withdraw your money at over 2.1 million ATMs worldwide.

Before you head off, make sure you let us know your travel plans so we can accurately assess your transactions and notify you immediately if any suspicious activity takes place. You can do this using your Mobile Banking App or Internet Banking.

Mobile Banking App

Select Overseas Travel from the drop-down menu, then Travel notifications and follow the prompts.

Internet Banking

Select Cards from the top navigation menu, then click Heading overseas and follow the prompts.

Alternatively, you can call us on (08) 8202 7777 or visit us at 400 King William Street, Adelaide.

Security

You’ll be protected by Visa’s Zero Liability Policy. With Visa's Zero Liability policy*, you can get protection from fraudulent charges made with your card or account information. This means you can pay with total confidence, knowing you are protected against unauthorised use.

Plus, you now have the option to turn international purchases off at any time (for extra security) using Internet Banking or your Mobile Banking App. You can also turn off domestic purchases and ATM withdrawals – which is a good idea if you’re travelling overseas.

When using your card overseas, fees and charges may apply.

*Visa's Zero Liability policy covers Australian and New Zealand-issued cards and does not apply to ATM transactions, transactions not processed by Visa or certain commercial card transactions. Cardholders should notify their Issuer promptly of any unauthorised Visa use. Please consult your Issuer for additional details.
