Foreign currency drafts A secure and affordable alternative to electronic transfers

A draft is like a bank cheque but made out in foreign currency. It’s a simple way to send money to friends and family overseas in an affordable way, or to settle overseas payments, especially if you don’t have the receiver’s bank account details.

Drafts are sent overseas via mail and are available in a wide range of currencies, including all major currencies, such as US Dollars, Great British Pounds and Euros.

To arrange for a draft to be issued, you need to provide us with the following details of the beneficiary:

  • Full name
  • Full street address (cannot be a PO Box)
  • Any special instructions or reference notes
  • The currency required and the amount.

The draft will normally be available for your collection at 400 King William Street, Adelaide within 48 hours.

Should your draft go missing, you can easily stop it and arrange for a re-issue

Secure method of payment

Drafts can only be negotiated (banked) by the payee
