Heidi may have missed out on having her picture taken in front of her new home when the SOLD sticker went up, but she certainly celebrated in style with her sister once the keys were in her hand.
“Getting the keys made it real,” she said. “My sister and I toasted each room with a glass of champagne – it was exhilarating!
“It's exciting to finally have my foot in the door, especially given the real estate market was so competitive, the hunt for that perfect property was time consuming, and house prices increased as each month passed.
“I'm thrilled that I can now put the rent that I've been paying towards my own home.”
It was a Credit Union SA First Home Buyer Grant of $5,000 that helped to make the dream purchase possible.
While Heidi had originally planned to stay with her existing lender, being told that she was eligible for the grant quickly convinced her to make the switch to Credit Union SA. When settlement day arrived, the grant was deposited into Heidi’s account to put towards the total purchase cost.
“The transition to Credit Union SA was seamless – it was nothing but a positive experience.”Heidi

“The $5,000 grant was a tremendous help and I was able to cover the cost of the mortgage insurance. But it was the whole process that ran a lot smoother than I ever would have imagined.
“Manager Mark Rudiger was fantastic, very thorough and informative. I had so many questions and he was able to guide me through the whole process.
“There is so much involved – who knew the loan approval was only the beginning.”
Heidi said the Credit Union SA First Home Buyers Grant could not have come at a better time.
“I'm sure many others will benefit from this fantastic offer,” she said.
